Tacu-Tacu what? Sure, some of the dishes have funny names, but the flavor at El Pollo Inka is no joke.
Though the company has several locations throughout California, there’s only one in Florida, and it’s right here at home in Doral.
This great little spot serves traditional Peruvian food, is open late seven days a week. The atmosphere is bright and lively, as Shakira shakes her hips on a flat panel TV while gorgeous, colorful ceviches served in big martini glasses float by on trays. Ceviches range from $8.95 – $22.95.
For a new spin on rice and beans, try a Tacu-Tacu dish, which is a blend of white rice and pinto beans pan fried into the shape of an omelet and topped with green onions. The outside is brown and crunchy while the inside is light and creamy. It can be served with chicken, beef, mixed seafood, fish, or shrimp. Tacu-Tacu dishes range from $6.95 – $21.95.
Among its winning concoctions, the restaurant offers a secret green sauce so good you’ll want to smear it on everything. The ingredients include fresh green peppers, lettuce, mayonnaise, and spices whipped together in a blender.
Skip the typical Latin restaurant desserts, such as Arroz con leche and flan, and go for the Alfajor. These two flour-based cookies are stacked like a sandwich with a thick layer of dulce de leche in the middle and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Each one is just $1.85.
El Pollo Inka also offers daily specials Monday – Friday for $7.99 including soup.
