Delices De France’s Treats Are Sinfully Sweet

By Anais Alexandre

Surrounded by exuberant customers, I breathed in the intoxicating aroma of fresh bread baking at Delices De France, a tiny French bakery tucked away in a plaza off US-1 and 144 St.

There was so much to choose from! I ordered the popular almond croissant, which I had heard a great deal about. It was served toasted, warm with a glossy coat of glaze. It was, honestly, one of the most delicious baked goods I have ever tasted.

Unlike the typical dry, flaky kind, this version was rich and oozing with flavor. The crust was like a sugared shell, filled with lusciously sweet and moist almond cream. Try it with a frothy Café au lait for an authentic experience.

Delices De France offers sweet temptations for any budget, from $.80 tiny croissants to a Passion Fruit Chocolate Mousse Cake priced at $34, and enough variety to make your heart swell.
