Located across from The Falls in Pinecrest, the French Bistro is truly an unforgettable experience. Indulge in steak, pasta, chicken, seafood, crepes, soups, salads, and more at this continental steak house.
Owner Daniel Gonzalez, who managed Rincon Argentino in Coral Gables, serves fresh, innovative, healthy, and delicious dishes with the help of his wife.
Appetizers start at $2 for an Argentinean Turnover (chicken or beef). The adventurous swear by their Escargot in Garlic Butter ($7.95), or try a crepe, available with an array of filings and served with house salad (starting at $8.95).
“Hands down, it’s the best bisque I’ve ever had!” said first-timer Gloria Greenfield of Coral Gables.
Bistro’s salads and sandwiches are incredible. For something out of the ordinary, try a Flavia Salad ($7.95) made with spinach, apples, strawberries, raisins, and feta cheese. Noteworthy sandwiches include Prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella and the Frenchy with salami and brie. The Crab Meat and Portobello Mushroom Melts are also sure bets.
If steak (starting at $12.95) is what you’re looking for, you won’t be disappointed. They offer Breaded Steak, Churrasco (skirt steak), Sirloin Steak in Mushroom Sauce, and Grilled Filet Mignon. Treat yourself with the Grilled Lamb Chops in Mint Sauce, or an Argentine BBQ for two.
The Bistro has lunch specials for $7.95, with a side. The early bird menu offers house salad, soup of the day, vegetables and mashed potatoes paired with great steak, chicken, pasta, and sea bass choices for $11.95. Also, ask about the wine of the day.
The surefire Chef’s Specials include Sea Bass stuffed with shrimp and crab ($21.95), casserole lamb chops ($23.95) and filet mignon with jumbo shrimp ($25.95).
Kids can munch on grilled cheese, burger, Mac-n-cheese, and spaghetti – each priced at $5.95.
For dessert, try the Crepe Suzette or Crepe Caramel Flambé, starting at $4.95.
