You don’t have to hop on a plane to enjoy fresh, homemade Mexican food. You can get a taste of the real thing at Rosita’s in Florida City, a great stop on the way to the Keys or Everglades National Park.
Serving the South Dade community since 1992, Rosita’s two-story structure doubles as a home for the family who runs the restaurant and lives upstairs. You won’t find trendy décor or fusion cuisine here. Rosita’s offers simple, authentic Mexican dishes made from scratch.
Breakfast ($4.75 – $6.50) includes Huevos Rancheros, eggs with bacon and ham, sausage, pancakes, Chilaquiles (fried corn tortillas) with chicken or beef, rice and beans. There is a $1 surcharge for breakfast after noon.
For lunch or dinner, you can’t beat the combos ($6.50 – $9.50). Each brings several items plus rice and beans. Choose from delicious Sope (thick tortilla topped with chicken or beef, lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese); chicken or beef flautas; tacos with Barbacoa style beef, burritos, enchiladas, and more.
Enjoy the complimentary, homemade chips and salsa too!
