Here at Great Food List we’re always on the hunt for a good brunch spot, so we jumped on the opportunity to check out Casabe 305 Bistro offering gourmet Venezuelan and Caribbean fusion cuisine. On a rainy Sunday, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant was a cozy hideaway that had once been a house.

Nestled along the busy street of Coral Way, this restaurant can easily be missed if you’re not looking. Once inside this white welcoming house, you’ll find it almost impossible to leave. It’s small and quaint and will make you feel like your dinning at home with the luxury of a waiter. The décor is equally as comfy and cozy.

To kick things off we ordered endless mimosas, which are $25 per person. Not too shabby since cocktails in Miami can easily carry a $15 price tag per drink. Our waiter was also very good about refills and overall service. We also ordered the Yuca Fries and Tequeños ($8) as starters.  The Yuca fries were crispy and crunchy. They were dipped in a sauce that might have been just a tad bit too creamy for breakfast and although it was good, it felt very heavy. The bite-size tequeños had a guava and chipotle sauce that was a nice kick of sweet and spice. If we had to choose a winner, our vote would be for the tequeños (pictured below on the right).

In order to avoid missing out, we also ordered the brunch platter that sampled many of the restaurant’s offerings. The dish had Venezuelan Perico (scrambled eggs with vegetables), an arepa, grated white cheese, beans, avocado, shredded beef and sweet plantains. The portion size was bountiful. We definitely got our money’s worth for $25 a plate and were very satisfied. Other brunch options to try include a menu list of different arepas ($7-$19), and a variety of soups and desserts are also available.

Casabe 305 Bistro also serves lunch and dinner. The menu tends to change and the waiter mentioned that they usually have a pre-fix menu for dinner that you can dive into. This place is perfect for small group gathering because it’s so warm and welcoming that everyone will feel right at home.
