Six Doral Restaurants Cooking Healthier Fare With A Delicious Kick

One of my favorite cities in Miami, is the Doral, sure traffic cops lurk in every corner, but the healthy and tasty culinary scene is growing. If your like me, and aim to eat as healthy as possible without sacrificing on the flavor, than check out these great eateries.

SUPER SMOOTHIE

My go to place for breakfast, natural juices or smoothies, I usually get a white egg wrap, with cheese and tomatoes. They also make pancakes, oatmeal, and other breakfast sandwiches and wraps (lunch options available too). Check out their reward card, a free smoothie on the 10th purchase!

SMART & HEALTHY — MARKET AND FOOD BAR

This local market is an oasis in the Doral for natural organic products, I call it “MINI WHOLEFOODS”. They carry a good selection of local produce, teas, honey, gluten free and organic products, and feature a small deli serving wraps, sandwiches, smoothies, soups, juices, salads, and daily lunch specials. Many if not all of their menu items are created using store products, so you can try making it yourself at home.

MAIDO

Probably one of the most popular sushi spots in Miami, highly rated by yelpers, and very authentic, this sushi spot attracts sushi lovers from all over Miami. FYI: they have a two hour window for lunch between 11am and 2pm; so don’t arrive after 2pm or you will be disappointed. My favorite dish here is the sashimi bento box, comes with miso soup, salad, sushi rolls.

NATURXHEAL — NatuRxHeal

This place is a healthy organic culinary gem, hidden in a pharmacy featuring a natural, organic café and juice bar. They serve all kinds of salads (the local favorite is the quinoa salad), wraps, panini, organic chicken empanadas, fish, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and natural gelatos.

The pharmacy is full of naturopathic alternatives and their website states they include a full line of premium vitamins, natural supplements, ayurveda herbals, homeopathy, incenses and aromatherapy and more.

NatuRxheal is a great place if your looking to eat healthy, don’t forget to take your vitamins with you!

BUBBLE CAFE

Forget the fancy forks, plates and bowls, this place is all about flavor with a healthy twist. Chef Manuel Sulbaran, former chef of Harry’s Pizzeria and Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink in the Design District, whips, stirs, and cooks up the most delicious fare using the freshest ingredients from local proveyers (whenever posssible). If you need help liking your vegetables, this place will put a trance on your tastebuds and brain with their soups, and salads. If your carnivorous have no fear, they serve one of the juiciest burgers in town, and the flavor is all in the burger (not the sauces); it’s so good you might order two of them!

This is one of the best prepared burgers in Miami, and the flavor is all in the meat. No need to cover it up with sauces, the burger alone does the job.
